Why Lofberg?: “Lofberg is probably the closest nets to my house growing up and where I used to go, cause after school and on the weekends all the time with my dad and my brother. We’d just muck around in the nets and bowl and bat to one another and practice catching and fielding and I sort of think that’s the first place I really picked up a cricket bat outside of the backyard.”

– Ellyse Perry

INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS PLAYING WITH STAPLE

Ellyse Perry

From Ellyse

“Every year I reckon I remember the catalogue coming out for the cricket equipment and I’d rifle through them and try and find a bat I would want to use for that season, or the pads and gloves, but I think often all that sizing was for boys or for men and in a lot of ways it didn’t make much difference but at the same time it was tricky to find something that fit really well and that I felt was made for me.

I think the opportunity to sign with JPG was super exciting mostly because of the chance to make a new range that was going to be really accessible for everyone wanting to play cricket. Whether you are a young boy or girl or a male or female athlete being able to use some gear that works for everyone was really important to me.

It’s been a really great project working on putting together the Staple range and had I some wonderful people help out along the way. But I think it’s really close to me because each of the bats are named after places that have been quite influential in my career whether it’s the local nets I hit at all my life with my Dad learning to play shots and develop my game and yeah kind a creating something that’s a bit different too and maybe a bit of a nod to cricket being a little bit more modern and I guess developing a bit more style to it hopefully, it’s been really cool.

Ellyse Perry Batting and Bowling Stats

Why a cricket range for everyone is important?

The range is destined to become iconic, not just because of the way it looks but because it will better fit so many people. Growing up there is a big shortage of options for girls in particular but smaller guys also.

The Staple range is built around Ellyse’s body type and playing style which means light bats, comfy gloves and smaller then average pads. Ellyse was stuck using “youth” gear which didn’t make a lot of sense so her size of pads and gloves is now called ADULT. There are many more sizes in the Staple range to fit absolutely everyone. There is a big emphasis on multiple junior sizes. Either measure using our online store or pop into the JPGavan workshop. You can also ask your local cricket shop to stock JPGavan Staple!

Who is JP Gavan?

Josh owned and operated JP Gavan for the past 10 years. He is one of only a handful of Australian cricket bat makers. He love what he does and started when he was 16 making cricket bats. JP Gavan was his hobby until only 5 years ago when demand for his bats and repairs blossomed and he took on the business full-time.

JP Gavan Cricket is his passion and life’s work, and he hopes to continue serving the cricket community and building his business.

He is super proud to be involved in Staple Bats with Ellyse and hopes it can bring enjoyment and comfort to cricketers from their first season to their last.

He operates with his staff from a workshop in Tamarama (near Bondi). Pop in and see how he does his business, making cricket bats.

Above is some of the practice bats that he makes and sells. Josh is the bat maker that makes his own brand bats JPGavan as well as Staple bats that are more focussed on Women as the bats are lighter in weight.

Conclusion

Staple Bats  are focused on getting the right equipment to each player based on their body type and size.

With the help of Ellyse they saw the need for equipment designed differently.  With Staples the bats are designed with the player in mind.  It is worth looking at their range to find the bat designed with you in mind.

Return policyWarranty and Guarantees

The different Brand suppliers have different return policies. Normally there is no warranty or guarantee on cricket bats. The reason is the nature of the game called Cricket.

Some companies and online suppliers can have their own rules regarding the first week of purchase. The return of the product might be possible if you are not satisfied with the bat or product and the product is still in sellable condition. That will depend on the specific store and supplier.

There can be mishaps with the online shopping experience is great in terms of range, price and delivery.

I bought an item from your website. But this is not what I want. Can I give it back?

Yes, you can. However, there might be limitations to accepting back-sold goods. The date of delivery and the date of return should not be more than 7 days apart.

Returned items need to be in an unused state along with all the product tags and labels intact.

  • What do I do? I received a broken/damaged item.

Cricket Equipment suppliers will have their own procedures they would follow.

I would suggest making sure that you check the return policy and procedures before you buy a Cricket Item online.
