DSC bats are hand-picked by experienced craftsmen; excellent grade 1 English Willow is used when making the Krunch Pro. With huge edges and an enormous spine height, it has a great amount of willow forming the perfect balanced weapon for clearing the boundary.

The mid to low middle of the bat is perfect for playing power shots even when not middling the ball perfectly. Together with the perfect balance of the bat, the oval handle sorts for maximum comfort while being out in the middle.

DSC Krunch Pro- DSC bats- Full PROFILE SHAPE of DSC  bats (KRUNCH): The full player’s style cricket bat is the most common of bats in cricket bat production. This kind of profile is both the most powerful and most forgiving. Such a design is what you will usually see at the international level. A full profile usually means one of two things. Either the bat is constructed from high quality lightweight willow or has an above average weigh with minimum concaving and scalloping at the back of the bat.

DSC Krunch Pro- DSC bats- A Standard BOW OF DSC  bats (KRUNCH): The regular bow found in the majority of modern cricket bats which allows you to get your hands slightly ahead of the ball for ease of stroke play. It also helps the cricket bat feel more aggressive in your hands.

DSC Krunch Pro- DSC bats- A Medium SPINE HEIGHT OF DSC  bats (KRUNCH): Often combined with big edges to create a forgiving bat with an extra wide hitting zone which still rewards striking the blade out of the very middle.

DSC Krunch Pro- DSC bats- A Semi-Flat FACE OF DSC bats (KRUNCH): One of the latest trends in cricket bat faces was born from the need to add some durability to the edges of flat faced bats. When prepared correctly semi-flat faces bring the benefits of slightly bigger edges, a wider sweet spot. A slight curve also allows batsman to be confident when using the wrists to manipulate the face angle.

DSC Krunch Pro- DSC bats- A Mid SWEET SPOT POSITION OF DSC bats (KRUNCH): Not too high or too low, the mid-sweet spot position is the most popular setup among all cricket bats. This setup gives performance both straight and square of the wicket, while allowing players to be confident with an array of shots. This prime sweet spot position is also famous for what many refer to as a ‘balanced’ pickup.

DSC Krunch Pro- DSC bats- Oval HANDLE TYPE OF DSC  bats (KRUNCH): This shape aids alignment, slightly strengthens the Top hand for more controlled stroke play and still allows for creative use of the bottom hand. It provides the maximum shock absorption and strength while hitting the ball.

DSC Krunch Pro- DSC bats- A Rounded TOE OF DSC bats (KRUNCH):  This bat is not fitted with a toe guard. I would suggest adding a toe guard to this bat as it would protect the bat against excessive moisture. The main reason for a Rounded toe is its help with minimizing damage from tapping at the crease and running between the wickets with your bat, as the toe is slightly offset.

2. DSC SPLIT Pro English Willow DSC bats

A lighter pickup allows for faster hand speed through the strike of the ball. An unbalanced bat will put strain on the batsman forearms creating discomfort when playing a longer, high paced innings.

DSC SPLIT Pro English Willow DSC bats- A Rounded HANDLE TYPE of DSC bats: This shape aids control and comfortability in the hands of the batsman which allows him/her to execute their shots with perfection. A rounded handle allows the batsman to pivet the bat for a wider variety of shots, especially when trying to find the gap between fielders.

DSC SPLIT Pro English Willow DSC bats- A semi-square TOE of DSC bats (KRUNCH 1.0):  This bat is not fitted with a toe guard. I would suggest adding a toe guard to this bat as it would protect the bat against excessive moisture. The main reason for a Semi square toe is it help minimize damage from tapping at the crease and running between the wickets with your bat, as the toe is slightly offset. Meaning that the toe is square with slightly rounded edges. This prevents the toe from digging into the pitch when running to your crease.

The main reason for a Semi square toe is it help minimize damage from tapping at the crease and running between the wickets with your bat, as the toe is slightly offset. Meaning that the toe is square with slightly rounded edges. This prevents the toe from digging into the pitch when running to your crease.

A lighter pickup allows for faster hand speed through the strike of the ball. An unbalanced bat will put strain on the batsman forearms creating discomfort when playing a longer, high paced innings.

Indian sub-continental shapes are typically seen with a more pronounced bow enabling the sweet spot to be lower on the blade as well. Ideal to bat with this bat on slow low pitches. This is a regular bow found in the majority of modern cricket bats which gets your hands slightly ahead of the ball for ease of stroke play. It also helps the cricket bat feel more aggressive.

DSC Krunch 3.0- DSC bats- Extended 65mm SPINE HEIGHT: Cricket Bat Spine is found on the back face of the cricket bat. The spine is the line that runs down the center of the cricket bat’s back starting from the handle and running down to the toe. Higher spine or a thicker swell depth represents more willow mass behind the sweet spot which provides more power with every shot.

DSC Krunch 3.0- DSC bats- A flat FACE: Round is the traditional shape that until 15 years ago was all there was. You get more deflection for off-centred shots, which a touch player can exploit for late shots backward of the square. Round faces put less stress on the shoulders and handle because that energy is deflected rather than twisting the blade. All that puts stress around the splice joint, so the flatter the face the more twist is generated the harder you hit and closer to the edge. It is the same reason a flatter face is more forgiving and more energy remains in the shot for off-centre shots making the middle feel wider. The big edge was a by-product of the flatter face. The new MCC law allows for a maximum of 5 mm camber. This is probably a good compromise

DSC Krunch 3.0- DSC bats- A Mid SWEET SPOT POSITION:A 2-in-one setup that allows favourability to players who like to hit down the ground, but still want the benefits of a mid-sweet spot.

DSC Krunch 3.0- DSC bats- Rounded HANDLE TYPE: The handle is made with Treble spring for the maximum shock absorption and for providing strength when playing big shots all around the ground. The round handle also gives the batsman a great level of comfort when batting.

A slight curve also allows batsman to be confident when using the wrists to manipulate the face angle.

DSC Intense 1.0- DSC bats- A Mid to low SWEET SPOT POSITION: A 2-in-one setup that allows favorability to players who like to hit down the ground, but still want the benefits of a mid-sweet spot.

DSC Intense 1.0- DSC bats- Oval HANDLE TYPE: The handle is made with Treble spring for the maximum shock absorption and for providing strength when playing big shots all around the ground. The round handle also gives the batsman a great level of comfort when batting.

DSC Intense 1.0- DSC bats- Slightly round TOE: This bat needs some form of toe preparation via shoe goo, a toe guard, or your favorite secret recipe. Being slightly rounded it provides a certain amount of prevention of damage to the bat.

15. DSC Intense 2.0- DSC bats

The Intense 2.0 is a very clean bat with round about 8 grains and a very full profile. A fresh cleft makes increases the moisture in the bat which increases the weight of the bat a bit. It will dry out and lead to a slightly lighter bat with monstrous dimensions,

Made from top Grade 1 English Willow, The Intense 2.0 is handcrafted and shaped into a monster with a pronounced bow which provides control of every shot and a curved blade to provide the power for clearing the fence.

The thick edges and thick toe form a thick profile bat that has a lot of willow in the batsman’s hands. This is a slightly heavier bat because of the fresh cleft that ensures moisture in the bat, however this does dry out and make the bat a little bit lighter and easier to swing around.

The bat is made with an Oval handle that allows the batsman to successfully control the weight of the bat and still be able to middle the ball. The looks of the bat, together with its amazing ping and pick up, will make any batsman confidant when walking to the crease.

DSC Intense 2.0- DSC bats: Full PROFILE SHAPE: The full player’s style cricket bat is the most common of bats in cricket bat production. This kind of profile is both the most powerful and most forgiving. Such a design is what you will usually see at the international level. A full profile usually means one of two things. Either the bat is constructed from high quality lightweight willow or has an above average weigh with minimum concaving and scalloping at the back of the bat.

DSC Intense 2.0- DSC bats; Pronounced BOW: With a more pronounced bow than the standard bow, it gets your hands more ahead of the ball for ease of stroke play and control of the ball. It also helps the cricket bat feel more aggressive in your hands which helps when playing big, explosive shots.

DSC Intense 2.0- DSC bats- Medium SPINE HEIGHT: Often combined with big edges to create a forgiving bat with an extra wide hitting zone which still rewards striking the blade out of the very middle.

DSC Intense 2.0- DSC bats- Semi-Flat FACE: One of the latest trends in cricket bat faces was born from the need to add some durability to the edges of flat faced bats. When prepared correctly semi-flat faces bring the benefits of slightly bigger edges, a wider sweet spot plus ‘point and shoot’ aiming of a flat face bat. A slight curve also allows batsman to be confident when using the wrists to manipulate the face angle.

DSC Intense 2.0- DSC bats- Mid SWEET SPOT POSITION: Not too high or too low, the mid sweet spot position is the most popular setup among all cricket bats. This setup gives performance both straight and square of the wicket, while allowing players to be confident with an array of shots. This prime sweet spot position is also famous for what many refer to as a ‘balanced’ pickup.

DSC Intense 2.0- DSC bats- Oval HANDLE TYPE: The handle is made with Treble spring for the maximum shock absorption and for providing strength when playing big shots all around the ground. The round handle also gives the batsman a great level of comfort when batting.

DSC Intense 2.0- DSC bats- Natural Rounded TOE: This bat needs some form of toe preparation via shoe goo, a toe guard or your favourite secret recipe.

Dsc has a huge range of bat families. This is a great advantage. This ensures that anyone will be able to get their hands on a DSC bat. Each family have also variations to meet every cricketer’s batting needs.

Who makes DSC cricket bats?

Delux Sports Company (DSC) is one of the leading bat manufacturing companies in India and in the world.

It’s a private company.

Satish Verma is the CEO of DSC Limited.

Is DSC a good cricket brand?

DSC is a well-known name in the sports goods industry especially cricket in India. A History that is going back to the 1970s. Their focus has been to develop products & technologies that help athletes achieve their peak performance.

The DSC master bat makers only choose the premium clefts of English willow to manufacture the best for serious cricketers. The highest quality Kashmir willow is selected for recreational purposes and just the fun of the game. The willow also gets dried first and then graded. All bats are handmade and Singapore Cane is used in making the bat handles.

The DSC Brand has attracted quality cricketers all over the world. David Warner (Aus.), Usman Khawaja (Aus), Alex Hales (Eng.), Danni Wyatt (Eng.), Rory Burns (Eng.), Ashleigh Gardner, Sune Luus  (RSA) and David Miller (RSA).

Fearless is their Motto – David Miller and David Warner give meaning to fearlessness with the way they bat.

You can expect long innings of confidant ball hitting with DSC Cricket Bats. With it’s good shock absorption and curved edges, massive spine and mid-to-low swell position. Most of the bats are evenly balanced with clean willow (Having no blemishes). These bats have normally a spine height of 64-65mm thick, 40mm edges, and weigh approximately 2lb 9oz. It might vary from bat to bat. The wood of DSC Cricket bats is carefully picked out and the blades are graded according to grain, colouring and any small blemishes. From Grade 1, which is the very best, blemish-free wood, to Grade 4, which will play just as well but will have more blemishes.  The premium bat blades are the whitest with the closest grain.  “Blemishes” on the face of a bat will be variations in colour, inconsistencies of grain, and “specks” – tiny grains of grit taken up into the tree from the soil.  Tiny, “living” knots are confined to the edge of the blade, and larger, “dead” knots are cut out and filled and will only appear on the reverse of a blade. These bats with filled in  “dead” knots are of lower  quality but still great value for money. Ideal for beginners with a limited budget.

I will discuss below a view of international batsmen that are currently playing with the DSC Brand Cricket range.

An Oval to rounded handle allows the bottom hand to come into play while still having the control of the oval handle at the bottom.

As a loose rule players that attack mainly with horizontal bat shots tend to prefer a Round handle as it allows for an easier roll of the wrist over the ball and this can then be found at the top of the handle. Concave edges support the carved blade.

Without concaving the bat has a lot of willow behind every shot that is played. Despite having a lot of willow, it’s balance is perfect. This ensures an easy pick-up of the bat. The ease of ‘pick-up’ of a bat while batting is more important than its absolute weight, and depends on both the bat size and how the weight is distributed around the blade. Different batsmen prefer different ‘pick-ups. It is important to get the feel of several, bats before making a choice.

The textured grip for the Bat Handle assists with control and comfort. The textured grip allows for maximum control when handling the bat and allows the batsman to play his/her shots without having to worry about the bat turning or even sliding out of their hands.

DSC David Miller Player Bat

From looks to performance, this bat screams perfection.

The bats have a clean front face with 8 – 11 dark and even grains showing the quality of the willow used to make them.

The main features of this bat are mentioned below! DSC David Miller Player Edition is a full-profile cricket bat with a slight duckbill toe having large and bulky edges.

The edges are 40mm thick, enhancing the bat’s hitting ability. The bats have a spine height of 64mm, allowing a wider sweet spot to hit massive shots consistently. The ping is exceptionally consistent and solid, as you can expect from a handcrafted DSC bat with such measurements.

The DSC bats comes with a Semi oval handle with a single grip on top of them. There aren’t many original player bats that come with an oval handle. So, if you want a premium quality bat with an oval handle, DSC David Miller might be the best choice.

The weight of the bat is equally distributed throughout the entire bat. The David Miller Player Edition has a very light pickup because of its balance and weight distribution, which allows for an excellent bat swing and comfort while batting for a longer time period.

Conclusion

In my opinion the DSC range is an excellent range of bats and equipment. The huge edges and clear wide blade of their bats ensure hard hitting. The oval to round handles promises control and comfort when handling the bat which is a huge benefit in T20 matches where every type of shot gets played. The selection of top grade English willow ensure quality willow for the bat range. DSC’s bat ranges are expensive if you compare them to other ranges, but it rewards you with quality results every time. There’s a DSC bat for every type of batsman, picking the one that suites your style will obviously benefit you.
