It is someone that is looking at ultimate power at the forefront, then this shape may suit. The pickup will still be nice and balanced and feel superb in the hands. SG 70 Sunny Years- SG bats – A large Bow: A large bow acts as a counterbalance, raising the center of gravity of the cricket bat, thereby assisting pick-up. In other words, a bat with considerable bow and a lower middle can feel the same as a straight blade with a higher middle.

It helps with control of strokes, as the player’s hands are positioned more in front of the ball during contact. It acts like a scoop, to produce more lofted (higher) shots, which do however run the risk of being caught.

SG 70 Sunny Years- SG bats – Higher spine or a thicker swell depth represents more willow mass behind the sweet spot. The sweet spot is deeper and exhibits better rebounding qualities. A deeper swell helps to give the cricket bat a larger sweet spot.

SG 70 Sunny Years- SG bats – A FLATTER FACE profile: assists with better control of the bat, because of the flatter face.

SG 70 Sunny Years- SG bats – Big EDGES: The Big edges make for a forgiving and powerful cricket bat with a wider sweet spot.

Do you rarely find yourself on high-bouncing wickets? A synthetic wicket specialist? Or thinking about a tour of the subcontinent? Well, this sweet spot setup could really help some of your shots. Blast a straight drive through the inner field and you’ll know what we mean.

Each grain represents 1 year of growth of a particular willow tree. The number of grains has a direct correlation with the quality of the cricket bat.

The older the tree is, the softer the wood is. The bat thus is made of upper-class English willow and will give you the punch and performance of the blade. They tried to leave as much wood in the bat as there is minimum concaving and scalloping along the spine and toe of the bat.

Imported Singapore cane handle with special formulation cork inserts enhance the shock absorption and feel from the handle to the blade of the bat. According to my observation of the bat, the handle begins with a semi-oval shape that goes into round from the middle of the handle.

The benefit is that you will be able to play horizontal and straight shots comfortably. You will have perfect feel from the bat. A heavier bat, but the pickup feels 1 ounce lighter than the dead weight. Full-size length of the bat is estimated at 85.7 cm.

SG Triple Crown Original LE- SG bats – A duckbill PROFILE SHAPE: A duckbill profile adds thickness to the toe yet aids pickup for a better-balanced bat. This is the bat profile preferred by many international players due to the balance and amount of wood left in the bat in the hitting zone. Perfect for front-foot players and on slow low English wickets. This bat is designed for big hitters and for clearing the ropes effortlessly.

SG Triple Crown Original LE- SG bats – A Standard BOW: The Cricket Bow is the curve of the cricket bat from the tip of the handle to the end of the toe. The Cricket bow is based on the personal preference of you as a batsmen. Some cricket players prefer cricket bats with a larger bow. When seen in profile, you’ll notice that there is a curve from the bottom of the handle through to the toe. This entire curve is referred to as the ‘bow’. The regular bow is found in the majority of modern cricket bats which gets your hands slightly ahead of the ball for ease of stroke play. It also helps the cricket bat feel more aggressive in your hands.

SG Triple Crown Original LE- SG bats – A Medium SPINE HEIGHT: What is the spine of a cricket bat? Cricket Bat Spine is found on the back face of the cricket bat. The spine is the line that runs down the center of the cricket bat’s back starting from the handle running down to the toe.  A higher spine or a thicker swell depth represents more willow mass behind the sweet spot. Often combined with big edges to create a forgiving bat with an extra wide hitting zone which still rewards striking the blade out of the very middle of the bat.

SG Triple Crown Original LE- SG bats – A Semi-Flat FACE: One of the latest trends in cricket bat faces was born from the need to add some durability to the edges of flat-faced bats. When prepared correctly semi-flat faces bring the benefits of slightly bigger edges, a wider sweet spot plus ‘point and shoot’ aiming of a flat face bat. A slight curve also allows batsmen to be confident when using the wrists to manipulate the face angle.

SG Triple Crown Original LE- SG bats – Big EDGES: Big edges make for a forgiving and powerful cricket bat with a wider sweet spot.

SG Triple Crown Original LE- SG bats – A Mid SWEET SPOT POSITION: Not too high or too low, the mid sweet spot position is the most popular setup among all cricket bats. You would be looking for a mid-sweet spot if you see yourself as a ‘complete’ batter. This means if you enjoy strokes on the front and back foot, you play on all types of wickets and you want the largest area for the sweet spot. This setup gives performance both straight and square of the wicket, while allowing players to be confident with an array of shots. This prime sweet spot position is also famous for what many refer to as a ‘balanced’ pickup.

SG Triple Crown Original LE- SG bats – Round HANDLE TYPE: Allows the bottom hand to come into play more easily for aerial shots. As a loose rule players that attack mainly with horizontal bat shots tend to prefer a Round handle as it allows for an easier roll of the wrist over the ball. Typically the choice of Asian players. It is for players who are wristy, like using the bottom hand and like to feel the bottom hand on the handle.
SG Triple Crown Original LE- SG bats – Semi flat or square TOE: This bat needs some form of toe preparation via shoe goo, a toe guard or your favourite secret recipe.

For better grip it comes with Chevtac grip who profile excellent grip. Technology used in Bat: Big Sweet Spot: SG English Willow Bats are produced with the maximum sized sweet spot available which is helpful in building confidence and emphasising stroke play.

Pen drive Handle Technology: This English Willow Bat handle has multiple pieces of imported Sarawak Cane to enhance & maximizing the strength. This is required for the extra bond between handle & blade thereby maximizing durability and power transfer.

Big Edge Profile: This Technology minimizes the power loss caused from off center strikes. SG English Willow Bat edges measure up to 40 mm which is best for professional cricket.

Round Face Profile: The rounded face provides a refined direction of power throughout the hitting zone, but yields a slightly less imposing yet more familiar profile.

Light-Weight: Some professional players demand for light weight English Willow bats.

SG Triple Crown Original Grade 1- SG bats – A Scalloped PROFILE SHAPE:In the quest to maximise spine height, gouging willow from either side of the spine allows it to peak without dramatically increasing weight. Scallops also maximise edge profile which reduces rotation of the blade in off-centre hits. A well scalloped bat made from high quality willow is the hallmark of a light cricket bat.

SG Triple Crown Original Grade 1- SG bats – A Enhanced BOW: A very aggressive style bow made for attacking cricket & striking fear into bowlers. The extra leverage towards the toe can be an excellent tool on lower bouncing wickets.

SG Triple Crown Original Grade 1- SG bats – High SPINE HEIGHT: A high spine maximises the hitting power of the centre of the cricket bat.

SG Triple Crown Original Grade 1- SG bats – Semi Flat FACE: One of the latest trends in cricket bat faces was born from the need to add some durability to the edges of flat faced bats. When prepared correctly semi-flat faces bring the benefits of slightly bigger edges, a wider sweet spot plus ‘point and shoot’ aiming of a flat face bat. A slight curve also allows batsman to be confident when using the wrists to manipulate the face angle.

SG Triple Crown Original Grade 1- SG bats – Big EDGES: These edges are heading close to the magic 40mm mark. Big edges make for a forgiving and powerful cricket bat with a wider sweet spot. Please be aware that junior bats can still have big edges but they will be relative to 40mm due to their size.

SG Triple Crown Original Grade 1- SG bats – Low SWEET SPOT POSITION: Performs at its best when players hit through the ‘V’ with a straight bat. Often favoured by those who play at the top of the order or find themselves on lower bouncing wickets. Crush a drive with one of these and the bowlers will know they’re in for trouble.

SG Triple Crown Original Grade 1- SG bats – Semi oval HANDLE TYPE: A happy medium that brings the benefits of both oval & round handles. This shape aids alignment, slightly weakens the bottom hand for more controlled stroke play and still allows for creative use of the bottom hand.

SG Triple Crown Original Grade 1- SG bats – A semi square to square TOE: GM bats have Toe Tek for toe protection. It is fitted with a toe guard.  The main reason for a Semi square toe is it help minimize damage from tapping at the crease and running between the wickets with your bat, as the toe is slightly offset.

It is best for senior and advanced-level players.

SG has always strived to meet the expectations of the players and this bat is a clear example of it. The position of the sweet spot is mid to low. Custom-made to make sure that it delivers the highest quality performance.

The handle is made up of superior-quality Sarawak cane which delivers control and power while hitting the ball.

It offers maximum side edge and wood in the sweet spot for hitting the ball with full strength.

The bat is light in weight and weighs between 1180-1250 grams.

SG RP 777 English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats  – Full PROFILE SHAPE: The full players style cricket bat is the peak of cricket bat production. This kind of profile is both the most powerful and most forgiving. Such a design is what you will usually see at the international level. A full profile usually means one of two things. Either the bat is constructed from high quality lightweight willow or has an above average weight.

SG RP 777 English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats  – Standard BOW: The regular bow found in the majority of modern cricket bats which gets your hands slightly ahead of the ball for ease of stroke play. It also helps the cricket bat feel more aggressive.

SG RP 777 English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats  – Medium SPINE HEIGHT: Often combined with big edges to create a forgiving bat with an extra wide hitting zone which still rewards striking the blade out of the very middle.

SG RP 777 English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats  – Semi-Flat FACE: One of the latest trends in cricket bat faces was born from the need to add some durability to the edges of flat faced bats. When prepared correctly semi-flat faces bring the benefits of slightly bigger edges, a wider sweet spot plus ‘point and shoot’ aiming of a flat face bat.  SG RP 777 English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats  – Mid to Low SWEET SPOT POSITION: A hybrid setup that allows some favourability to players who like to hit down the ground but still want the benefits of a mid sweet spot. Rarely find yourself on high bouncing wickets? A synthetic wicket specialist? Or thinking about a tour of the subcontinent? Well this sweet spot setup could really help some of your shots. Blast a drive through the covers and you’ll know what we mean.

It has 6-11 straight grains and developed from grade A English willow for excellent performance. The edges are extra thick 40-45 mm to ease the player while hitting the ball. I think it is the first choice for serious cricket players, because of its feel and big, sweet spot. It has round shape short handle. It also comes with a toe protector for excellent durability.

The back profile of the bat shows the sharpness of the spine. The length of the spine is till the bottom of the bat, and you can see the amount of wood that is carved out. No warranty is provided on the product and services by the manufacturer as cricket bats are subjected to wear & tear and depends on the usage from individual to individual.

SG Player Edition English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats- Full Profile Min Concaving: The bat has very limited wood taken out the back of the bat, therefore the wood is left where it really matters to ensure the utmost ping. It is someone that is looking at ultimate power at the forefront, then this shape may suit. The pickup will still be nice and balanced and feel superb in the hands. This is the shape that most pro’s like especially in the ODI/T20 format due to the value for strokes you receive with this profile.

SG Player Edition English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats – A large Bow: A large bow acts as a counterbalance, raising the center of gravity of the cricket bat, thereby assisting pick-up.

SG Player Edition English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats – Higher spine or a thicker swell depth represents more willow mass behind the sweet spot. The sweet spot is deeper and exhibits better rebounding qualities. A deeper swell helps to give the cricket bat a larger sweet spot.

SG Player Edition English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats – A FLATTER FACE profile: assists with better control of the bat, because of the flatter face.

SG Player Edition English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats – Big EDGES: The Big edges make for a forgiving and powerful cricket bat with a wider sweet spot.

SG Player Edition English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats – A Mid to low SWEET SPOT POSITION: A two-in-one setup that allows some favorability to players who like to hit down the ground but still want the benefits of a mid-sweet spot. Do you rarely find yourself on high-bouncing wickets? A synthetic wicket specialist? Or thinking about a tour of the subcontinent? Well, this sweet spot setup could really help some of your shots. Blast a straight drive through the inner field and you’ll know what we mean.

SG Player Edition English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats – Oval HANDLE TYPE: Higher spine or a thicker swell depth represents more willow mass behind the sweet spot. The sweet spot is deeper and exhibits better rebounding qualities. A deeper swell helps to give the cricket bat a larger sweet spot.

SG Player Edition English Willow Cricket Bat- SG bats – A ROUND TOE: A Round toe is the most common toe shape used by players and in general will help prevent damage to the bat toe particularly if you are a constant crease tapper.

History of SG Cricket

What do the following cricketers have in common?

Sunil Gavaskar, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Rilee Rossouw

They know all about the whispering, the planning and the fielders’ worries about them.  They all stood there with confidence with a SG bat in hand – ready – for the next delivery.

Sanspareils Greenlands is an Indian cricket equipment manufacturer that you probably never heard of, but we all know the brand SG.

SG is an abbreviation for Sanspareils and Greenland companies with the vision of balance, power and precision.

The use of the bats is fairly widespread in international cricket.

Here follows a short history of the company to understand the depth of experience in manufacturing cricket equipment.

The two brothers Kedarnath and Dwarakanath Anand established Sanspareils Company in Sialkot in 1931.

In 1940 they established a company named Greenlands to facilitate export of their products. Why hit singles when there are boundaries to cross?

The cricket factory has been in MeerutUttar Pradesh since 1950.

SG has been exporting bats to the UK and Australia. According to my knowledge, they also manufacture bats for other international brands aswell.

SG loves to manufacture custom bats to the professionals needs.  With 70 years of experience and working alongside the top players they understand how to shape a bat to the player’s style and needs.

For this reason the company has been the market leader in the world with legends like Sunil GavaskarMohammad Azharuddin and Rahul Dravid endorsing the brand.

The brand really took off when Sunil Gavaskar became their ambassador in the 1970s.

The different Brand suppliers have different return policies. Normally there is no warranty or guarantee on cricket bats. The reason is the nature of the game called Cricket.
